This blog is the diary of Kathy Hinde aka @birdtwitchr whilst she is artist in residence at Villa Waldberta, by Lake Starnberg, Bavaria for June and July 2013. Kathy was invited to the residency by Horst Konietzny as part of the SIGNALRAUM programme.
Kathy Hinde’s work grows from a partnership between nature and technology. The use of open scores, graphic scores and chance procedures results in work that is generative; that evolves; that is different each time it is experienced.
Kathy frequently combines one or more artform by choosing the medium and material to suit the situation which in the past has resulted in audio-visual performances, site-specific projections, kinetic sculptures and online sound maps. She is keen to share her creative process through collaborations with other artists and scientists, alongside making artworks that rely on input from the audience.
